The animal of the day is the Great Horned Owl.(Did you know: These are the largest of all Owl species in America, and have been known to eat cats and dogs! They also eat skunks and are one of the few animals to do so!)

  1. Owls are the only real natural predator of adult skunks. Hawks and other carnivores have been known to attack young skunks (before their scent glands start to kick in), but owls are the only observed predator of a full grown skunk. Even wolves and coyotes avoid them!
