Animal of the day – 1/12/2011 – The Coyote

Coyote & cub in summer

The animal of the day is the Coyote. (Did you know: Native to North and Central America, coyotes have been able to survive and propugate while their cousins the wolves have been radically declining. Coyotes occupy areas from Canada down to Panama!

Oh, and speaking of wolves, coyotes have been known to mate with them, creating a ‘coywolf’.

  1. Ok, its decided. Our next family pet will obviously be a coyote, due to the cuteness of the cub in that picture. We were considering a dingo, but with the baby and all, that is probably in poor taste.
