The animal of the day is the Ring-tailed Coati. (Did you know: These cousins of the raccoon are trouble! Females and their young tend to band together in groups of up to 20. You wonder why these bands only include females and their young?

Well, when fruit is not easy to find, adult male coatis may try to eat the smaller members of their group! For this reason, males are expelled by adult females from the group as soon as they start acting shifty.
