The Pebble Toad

The animal of the day is the Pebble Toad. (Did you know: Unlike most toads, these guys breed communally in large nests! These nests can have mix of many adults, tadpoles, and eggs!

One of the coolest things about these toads though is their defense mechanism. If threatened, they tense all their muscles, and just throw themselves down a hill. They’re so small and tiny, that the bouncing doesn’t hurt them a bit!
