The Acraga Coa

The animal of the day is the Acraga Coa aka the Jewel Caterpillar. (Did you know: Rarely are butterflies/moths known more for their caterpillar stage than their butterfly stage. I mean, most caterpillars look much groser than the cute butterflies they grow into.

Meet the Jewel Caterpillar, native to Mexico. It does grow into a rather cute [and colorful] moth though.

The caterpillar actually goes through different stages, changing colors as it gets ready to pupate.
